5 Reasons Why Authors Can't Sell Their Books.

.

  1. Price -  STAY AWAY from $1.99. You’ll probably want to sell for $0.99 or in the $2.99 to $4.99 range — Remember: $0.99 titles sell twice as many copies as those at $1.99. Readers have come to associate $0.99 as a promotional or limited-time price and $2.99 and above as a marker of quality.
  2. Cover A good cover communicates strongly and yes! people do judge a book by it's cover. Some authors don't even upload a cover on Goodreads or Amazon, which is worst!
  3. Description -  Some authors have terrible descriptions - If I don't want to read your description, I don't want to read your book.
  4. Formatting - Your book needs to be properly formatted. If readers flicks through the pages of your book and see no paragraph breaks or indents, I guarantee the book is quickly left back on the shelf.
  5. Social Interaction - If I connect with you - you better answer. If I bother to visit your FB or Twitter and the last update was in 2013 - THAT MEANS YOU'RE DEAD!
